Your first run is on us.

Published 14 May 2026 • 6 min read • Category: Our Promise

When you upload your manuscript for the first time, your own voice belongs to you. We won't charge you for uploading your novel. Only for what the AI makes of it.

Sounds like marketing? It isn't. It is a feature we built into EPOS-AI because we believe we shouldn't take a single cent for the privilege of seeing your work. Seven AI functions, each one input-free. Up to 50,000 tokens per function. We call it a first run.

Anyone who signs up for a subscription gets seven of these first runs included. Each one usable once. No hidden conditions. And no advertising budget paying for the message. You are reading it here, on our own blog.

Why we do this

There is a moment every author knows who works with an AI for the first time. You have written your manuscript. Three years, five years, ten years of work. You open the tool, upload it, click analyse. And suddenly a counter starts ticking. Tokens get billed. You watch part of your month disappear before you have seen a single result.

This feeling is not a technical problem. It is a psychological one. It signals: be careful. Don't upload too much. Your words cost you money before they are worth anything.

Your first time with your own text should not be a shock. It should be a moment of recognition.

That is exactly why we built the first runs. So that the first time, that one decisive time, you don't have to do the math. So that you upload your manuscript, click start editing, and see what happens. Without regret. Without an accountant in your head.

What you get

Seven AI functions: the most important tools that authors use in EPOS-AI. Each one input-free for one run, up to 50,000 tokens of input. That is roughly 35,000 to 40,000 words. Enough for several chapters or a third of your manuscript.

AI Sparring Partner

Discuss a scene, challenge a character, let the AI test your plot logic. Your first session is on us.

Proofreading

Typos, grammar, punctuation. We won't bill you for the first pass over your chapters.

Style Editing

Word choice, rhythm, filter verbs, vivid verbs. Where does your style wobble? Let's find out together.

Developmental Editing

Tension arc, scene structure, pacing, conflict escalation. The deep analysis that usually costs serious money.

Character Workshop

Develop a character in depth. Inner contradictions, motivations, turning points. Once on us.

Worldbuilding

Expand geography, magic system, society, history. The first deep dive belongs to you.

Query Letter / Synopsis Generator

Agent-ready query letter or publisher-ready synopsis, generated from your plot. The first time: free.

Each function counts as used the moment you trigger it. So you don't have to decide whether to start today or tomorrow. The first runs wait patiently as long as your subscription is active.

What you don't get and why

Here it gets important. We want to be honest, not tricky.

You always pay for output. What the AI creates for you, the corrected sentences, the style critique, the character analysis, the synopsis, costs compute time. Those costs we don't give away. If we gifted output too, EPOS-AI would be bankrupt in three months, and that would help nobody.

But input is different. Input is what you already have. Your words. Your text. We didn't write it. We only pass it on to the AI so it can make something of it. Charging you for that feels wrong. So we don't.

Book editing is not included. If you want to edit your entire manuscript in a single run, all chapters at once, through all three levels, with consistency checks and tension arcs across the whole book, we are talking 500,000 input tokens or more. That is not a gift, it would be a subsidy. Book editing is billed normally by token.

But, and this is the trick: you can try it first with chapter-level editing. Three levels, each free once. So you know exactly how our editing feels before you launch the big run.

How it works

As soon as your first payment reaches us, whether after the seven-day trial or directly, the seven first runs unlock in your account. You see a subtle gold-accented banner on the dashboard: You still have seven first runs. With an overview of every function still available.

The moment you use one, say you click start style editing on one of your chapters, that function is marked as used. The other six remain.

One important thing: If your text is larger than 50,000 tokens of input, we'll let you know politely. You can then shorten it or proceed with normal billing. The choice is yours. We won't burn your first run on half a chapter when you meant the whole thing.

Three promises we make to you

The first runs are not just a technical feature. They are the visible expression of three attitudes at the heart of EPOS-AI. We write them down here so you know where you stand with us.

We respect your voice.

What you upload belongs to you. Your manuscript is not our learning material, not our training-data supplier, not our advertising space. It is your work, and we treat it accordingly. The first runs are the visible sign of that: we don't charge you for uploading your words. We only charge for what the AI makes of them. And even that transparently, in tokens, traceable.

We stay reachable.

You write an email to info@epos-ai.ch, and you get an answer from a human in Weggis. Not from a ticket system, not from a sales funnel, not from an outsourced helpdesk. That is true today. It will be true as long as EPOS-AI exists. If anything about your account, your first run, or our technology is unclear: we are here.

Your data stays yours.

Swiss servers. GDPR-compliant. No training on your manuscript, not today, not tomorrow, never. You can delete your account at any time, and your texts disappear from our database with it. We don't sell manuscripts, excerpts, or metadata. There are business models that do. Ours is not one of them.

These three promises cost us nothing. And they cost us everything the moment we break them. That is exactly why we keep them.

What authors actually get out of this

Let's not romanticise it. The first runs are not a gift in the philanthropic sense. We know what happens when an author hears their voice read by an AI for the first time without token-shock: they stay. They come back. They recommend us.

That is our honest interest. We believe EPOS-AI is good. We want you to find that out for yourself. Not in a stripped-down demo with sample texts, but with your own manuscript. With your characters. Your plot. Your voice.

And if you like what you see, we are happy to keep you as a customer. If you don't: at least you found out, without a counter ticking, what is possible. That is also fine.

Closing thought: Trust is a down payment

Trust is no small thing in the business of creative work. An author who uploads their manuscript trusts. The technology, the privacy guarantees, the quality of the AI. We wanted to meet that trust with a gesture that is more than a 7-day trial with sample text.

The first runs are our answer. Accept them if you decide on EPOS-AI. And if you have questions, write to us. We are a small team in Weggis on Lake Lucerne, and we read every email.
